Well nothing fantastic to report, i`m settling into life as a teaching in kumamoto japan, getting used to my apartment in suizenji kumamoto and generally everything is fine.
A few people have asked me about food over here so i`ll give a breakdown about food. In my apartment i have a stove with 2 gas elements, a frying pan, a saucepan and a kettle as well as a toaster oven. I can cook pretty much anything with this but the easiest thing is Ramen or other instant noodles, which I buy quite cheaply in any food shop. For breakfast i generally have cereal(which does exist over here but isn`t the standard in any way) or bread which i can get from a bakery, the supermarket or any convenience store and is interesting with many shapes and fillings including normal cheese and ham and strange but generally nice ones i can`t identify. For lunch if i eat pretty much anything, however bento(boxed lunches with interesting selections including sushi pieces, onigiri(rice balls) etc.) is an easy no fuss option. When eating out theres plenty of places, ramen, curry, sushi, standard american fastfood like maccas and kfc and japanese fast food like my personal favorite Mos Burger which is a burger restaurant but unlike maccas puts a lot of care into its burgers and they serve you at your table(its catch phrase "burger is my life" is also quite cute). Theres plenty of other food related things but that covers most of it.
The picture is of my apartment and my kitchen/hallway area.
